Safe house for GBV survivors finally commissioned in Lamu

    The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) has unveiled a new safe house for Gender-Based Violence Survivors in Lamu County which was built at a cost of Ksh.6 million.

    The safe house was constructed at Mokowe Hospital in the Hindi area which has the highest GBV cases in the county.

    Speaking during the official handing over of the facility, Lamu Woman Representative Ruweida Mohamed noted that the facility will help survivors have a safe place to stay while seeking justice.
