Safaricom’s full year net profit rises to Sh. 45 billion

Safaricom has posted a mega full year net profit of Sh. 45.1 billion! This was a profit growth of 18.3 per cent.

Total revenues for the year ended March 2017 have gone up by 8.8 per cent to Sh. 212.89 billion.

M-Pesa revenues grew from Sh. 41.5 billion to Sh. 55.08 billion while data revenues grew by 38.6 per cent to Sh. 29.29 billion

The telecommunications giant saw Sh. 6.8 trillion transacted through its M-Pesa network.

The company’s mobile data revenue grew from Sh. 21.2 billion in the 2016 financial year to Sh. 29.3 billion in its just concluded financial year.

Safaricom will pay a full year dividend of Sh. 0.95 per share. Its earnings per share rose to Sh. 1.22.
