Rogue Moses Adagala attacked in AFC Leopard win against Wazito

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League clash between AFC Leopards and Wazito was temporarily halted after an alleged attack on Wazito’s chairman Moses ‘Janabi’ Adagala.

Wazito players refused to take the pitch in a show of solidarity with their chairman, causing a stand-off.

In an interview with Nairobi news, Adagala said that he was attacked by people he believes were Leopards stewards when they tried to prevent him from getting to the dressing room at the end of the first half.

The stewards were unsuccessful, and the match continued, with Leopards leading 1-0 courtesy of Kelvin Wesonga’s own goal.

Leopards eventually won the match 1-0, but the incident overshadowed the game. Wazito coach Charles Odera said that the team delayed coming back on the pitch because their director was attacked and their security was at stake.

“Our director was attacked and our security was at stake. On performance, I have noted some improvement and soon we will start winning our matches,” said Wazito Coach Charles Odera on why the team delayed coming back on the pitch.

Adagala is no stranger to controversy, having been accused of attacking journalists and intimidating officials at the team’s Muhoroni base. On January 14, 2023, Leopards claimed that the match officials were aiding Wazito to win the contest, while Bandari team manager Albert Ogari recently complained about Adagala’s alleged harassment and intimidation during a match between the two teams.
