In preparing for the Mombasa rally to celebrate ODM’s 10 year anniversary, Raila Odinga’s party announced that Kenyans should expect a huge announcement from the CORD leader.

Well, after the rally that was held in Mombasa, it appears that there was no ‘Big’ announcement. In fact, the ODM rally came out as a reaction to Jubilee’s event at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi.

According to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his counter part Wycliffe Oparanya, the announcement was a declaration that Raila Odinga would be ODM’s presidential candidate in 2017.

This is despite zero interest from ODM members in vying for the seat against Raila either within the party’s nomination process or with-out.

On Friday, opposition leader Raila Odinga has told ODM supporters that he will make a special announcement today at the party’s 10th anniversary in Mombasa County.

The ODM leader also said a new slogan for the party would be unveiled at the event at the Mama Ngina Drive grounds in the Mombasa.

“I am back in Mombasa with a special message,’’ he told his supporters on arrival at the Moi International Airport Friday evening.

“We have a strategy on how to remove Jubilee which has undermined Kenyans and given so many unfulfilled pledges,’’ the Cord leader said.
