Glory hunters Police fc have once again thrown their financial weight around by snatching highly rated midfielder Kenneth Muguna from the grasp of Kenyan champions Gor Mahia.

Muguna was widely expected to return to Gor Mahia for a third stint after running down his contract at Tanzanian ice-cream makers Azam. The former Western Stima player had earlier sent some clues hinting at a possible return to Gor Mahia.

But Police, accustomed to throwing money at every problem they encounter emerged victorious in the quest to land the Kenyan international midfielder.

“I know how amazing it feels to win and what it takes to do it,” Muguna is quoted by Police media after his unveiling on Friday morning

The highly rated player is expected to help the ambitious boys in blue attain the FKF Premier League title next season after joining a galaxy of other stars who could only muster a 3rd place finish behind Gor Mahia and Tusker.

He will have to fight for his place in the Police midfield teeming with so much talent though. The former KPL Most Valuable Player is now in his 5th club since stepping up to the top-flight ranks.

Muguna enjoyed a breakout season with Western Stima after which he earned a big move to Gor Mahia in 2017. He them flew to Europe for a stint with Albanian side FK Tirana before returning to Gor Mahia for another two seasons.

Muguna switched to Azam from Gor Mahia and was widely expected to make his 3rd stint at K’Ogalo but chose Police FC.

“There’s a new sheriff in town!!” Police announced on their social media handles on Friday morning

“Kenyan International Kenneth Muguna has officially penned down a contract with the biggest club in Africa after completing his medical,” they elaborated

The early morning announcement clearly did not go down well with those of K’Ogalo persuasion who poured scorn on Police’ reference of themselves as the biggest club in Africa. “Awuoro biggest club in Africa,” one social media comment read
