Former IEBC chief James Oswago has said that he was aware there was rigging in the 2013 General Elections.
Mr. Oswago nonetheless said that there was little he could have done to avert the rigging. “Even if I was told that the elections were being rigged, what could I have done?” Mr Oswago said on Ramogi Radio.
According to him, the 2013 general elections were lost way before March 4 when people voted. According to him, the IEBC systems had been tested severally and found to be fault-free.
“The IEBC systems worked perfectly in all the by-elections held after the March 4, 2013 poll,” he added.
He further called for investigations to establish why the electronic voter transmission system collapsed during the 2013 General Election.
