Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala continues to revel in his association with car maker Toyota with who he has an ongoing partnership.

Omanyala announced a four-year ambassadorial deal with CFAO Motors Kenya (formerly Toyota Kenya) to promote their Toyota Hilux Double Cab pickup in December and has wasted no time in popularising the brand.

After a number of recent promotional posts, associating the car with pace and power which he is known for, his latest one stayed true to the tune.

“The car in front is always a Toyota,” the Commonwealth champion posted on social media.

Omanyala follows in the footsteps of marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge who has been the brand ambassador for the Isuzu Dmax pickup since 2017.

“I signed it (Toyota deal) in June. Just announced yesterday (December 7). Of course, there is money involved,” Omanyala told Nation last month.

Omanyala has gained a high affinity with brands since his emergence onto the scene as one of the world’s top sprinters.

Speaking to National Olympics Committee last month, Omanyala revealed how his 2024 season is now well taken care of thanks to his sponsors.

“These are companies that believe in me and are walking with me through this journey to the Olympics,” he said.

“Glad that Toyota and Visa are part of Olympic partners so I’m excited because in that (Olympics) village, I will have different places to sit. I will have a Visa, Toyota and Adidas house.

“Having sponsors on board, making sure my year will be good, no issues with travel again because now, we have the money to move around with my team.”

Omanyala is preparing for a grueling 2024 season when he plans to feature in the World Indoor Tour and the Diamond League before the Paris Olympics where he is targeting a medal.
