An Administration Police officer attached to Deputy President William Ruto’s Harambee House Annex office has been found dead at an estate in Imara Daima, Nairobi.

The officer, who sources say was on duty the day former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa visited the DP’s office in the company of two foreigners in the fake Ksh.39 billion military equipment deal, is alleged to have shot himself.

According to witnesses on the scene who spoke to Citizen Digital, the deceased had a bullet wound on the head.

A police officer has since further intimated that the AP also left behind a suicide note; he, however, did not disclose the contents of the note.

The deceased was the only remaining officer out of the five who were on duty when Echesa was arrested outside Harambee House Annex who had not been questioned by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in regards with the firearms scam.

According to David Mugonyi, DP Ruto’s Communication Secretary, the officer had not reported to work since Wednesday – February 19 – the day he was scheduled to appear before the DCI and a search for him had since been launched.
