Another member of parliament allied to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has claimed that the party is ready to do everything possible, including rigging of votes, to make Raila Odinga president come 2017.
Laikipia North MP Mathew Lempurkel said that the party is ready to rig elections if that the way Jubilee wants to go to ensure Uhuru retains the seat.
“If Jubilee knows how to steal votes we will also do the same. No matter what, Raila will be at State House next year,” he said as quoted by Standard.
The legislator was speaking while accompanying Raila on a tour of Kajiado and Taita Taveta counties on Tuesday, September 20.
Raila is seeking to take a shot at the presidency for a fourth and perhaps the last time having failed in his last three attempts.
The former prime minister has been intensely campaigning and marketing his party as the launch of the Jubilee Party poses a major threat to his political ambitions.
The Jubilee Party was launched after a number of parties agreed to merge to support Uhuru for the top seat.
