More than 2 million refugees, most of them from countries of asylum across the African continent, will be in need of resettlement next year, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) said on Tuesday.
Sub-Saharan Africa hosts about 662,000 people who will require such assistance. It is closely followed by the Middle East and North Africa (463,930), and Turkey (417,200), the agency’s Projected Global Resettlement Needs Assessment for 2023 revealed.
