Mfuateni kwa Kaburi: Chaos at TikToker Jaber Nyar Onagi’s burial as pastor suggests mourners join her in grave

The funeral of Lorine, known as Jaber Nyar Onagi, took a tragic turn as mourners were left stunned and outraged by the insensitive remarks made by a Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) pastor during the ceremony.

Lorine, the wife of emerging Ohangla musician Aungo Wuod Awendo, passed away due to childbirth complications, leaving behind a devastated community.

The burial, held in Awendo sub-county, Migori County, drew a significant gathering of mourners, including TikTokers, Ohangla artists, friends, and relatives.

The atmosphere was thick with grief as people gathered to pay their final respects to the vibrant young woman whose life was cut short.

However, the solemnity of the occasion was shattered when the pastor overseeing the service made unexpected and callous remarks.

In an ill-conceived attempt to console the grieving attendees, the pastor shockingly suggested that those mourning should join Jaber Nyar Onagi in the grave if they truly felt distressed by her passing.

His words, “If this has pained you so much, then enter the grave and be buried with her,” ignited immediate outrage among the mourners.

Attendees, deeply offended by the pastor’s insensitivity, openly challenged him, demanding that he leave the funeral if he was unwilling to offer genuine comfort.

Voices in the crowd condemned his behavior as abusive and negative, urging him to depart from the ceremony.

Amidst the chaos, some sought to confront the pastor directly, while others attempted to restore calm to the situation.
