Mariam Kighenda and Daughter Amanda To Be Laid To Rest Today

    Mariam Kighenda and her daughter will be laid to rest later today in Salama, Makueni county.

    Mariam was married to John Wambua and they were blessed with two children Alvin and Amanda Mutheu.

    Her son is yet to come to terms with his loved ones’ death. Addressing the media a few days ago, Wambua said,

    I BROKE THE NEWS TO MY SON ON FRIDAY AND SINCE THEN IT HAS BEEN TOUGH FOR HIM. IT IS A HEALING PROCESS.

    Bodies of Mariam Kighenda and her daughter Amanda Mutheu have already arrived in Salama, Makuendi county ahead of the burial later on today.

    The two died after their car drowned in the Indian Ocean and took divers 13 days to retrieve their bodies. According to the autopsy reports, they both died of asphyxiation – the state or process of being deprived of oxygen, which can result in unconsciousness or death; suffocation.

    Sonko rescue team transported the bodies from Jocham mortuary in Mombasa to their final resting place.

    The Nairobi governor shared photos of the bodies and family members before departing for Salama on facebook.

    TO THE WIDOWER, MR JOHN WAMBUA AND THE YOUNG SON, ALVIN, WE ARE TOGETHER BROTHER DURING THIS DIFFICULT MOMENT.

    I KNOW THIS IS THE MOMENT YOU ARE REALLY FEELING THE PAIN BUT TUKO PAMOJA,’ READ SONKO’S MESSAGE TO MARIAM’S HUSBAND.
