A Manchester United supporter who collapsed after eating 15 eggs following the Red Devils’ 3-1 defeat to Arsenal last weekend now wants a chance to watch the team he supports at Old Trafford.
Thomas Kiptanui Kemboi, popularly known as Kapkeno, had promised to consume a tray of boiled eggs if United lost to Arsenal in the English Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
With the Gunners winning following goals from Martin Odegaard, who cancelled out Marcus Rashford’s stunner, before stoppage time strikes from Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus, Kapkeno had no choice but to honour his pledge.
While in the company of his friends, he started peeling off the shells as he devoured the eggs, one after the other while beaming it live on his Facebook page.
However, after 15 eggs, he suddenly collapsed in what his friends thought was a stunt until they realised it was actually serious and rushed him to hospital.
He would later reveal that he had experienced a fever and excessive sweating while his stomach started swelling.
Now after the ordeal, Kapkeno is requesting United to grant him an opportunity to watch a match at Old Trafford to ease his pain following the near-death moment.
“Dear Man United, I ate 15 eggs after promising to my fans if Arsenal will defeat us. Luckily, I am alive after being admitted to hospital. Kindly allow me to watch a live match at old Trafford and I will feel better,” reads a message on his placard.
Erik ten Hag’s men currently occupy 11th spot on the Premier League table with six points from their opening four games and will be hoping for improved performances after the international break.
