Police have launched a manhunt for two armed robbers who shot and injured a man at a retail shop in Nairobi’s Kasarani area.

The victim identified as Richard Muema is recuperating at Kenyatta National Hospital after he was shot eight times by one of the robbers.

CCTV footage obtained by Citizen TV shows the two armed men making their way into the shop at around 10.30 pm with one of them brandishing a gun.

The armed robber orders Muema to the ground and he immediately complies after which the gunmen shift their attention to the shopkeeper.

However, shortly later, Muema gets up and launches an offensive on the gunman and that is when hell broke loose.

The gunman opens fire and continuously shoots as he follows him out of the shop.

The man has since undergone surgery to remove the bullets from his body with his family appealing for financial support to cater for the medical bill.

Meanwhile, police have urged members of the public to help identify the suspects.
