Gladys Wanga of ODM is the governor elect for Homa Bay.
She secured 244,559 votes against her closest rival former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero with 154182 votes.
Wanga will be the first female governor in Nyanza region.
In 2013, Wanga ran for an elective seat for women representative in Homa Bay County and emerged victorious.
Wanga who has held the position for two terms has been a member of Departmental Committee on Labour and Social Welfare in the National Assembly.
