Less than 20 people turn up for Health scandal demonstrations

Less than 20 people turned up for the Health scandal protests that were held in Nairobi today.

The small crowd marched to Afya House from Milimani law courts in Nairobi on Wednesday morning carrying pig heads and rats symbolising officials who allegedly stole the money.

“They are stealing from persons living with HIV, those living with disabilities, accident victims and pregnant women,” said Morris Odhiambo, who is National Civil Society Congress president.

Kenyans on social media expressed outrage over reports that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s family members were involved in the scandal.

It emerged that a company associated with the President’s sister and cousin pocketed questionable payments amounting to more than Sh200 million.

Another group of activists led by Boniface Mwangi said today that they will hold another protest in Nairobi tomorrow.
