Leopards Begin Talent Search In Western Kenya

FKF Premier League side AFC Leopards will embark on a scouting mission to rope in top talents from the Western region in a bid to add more depth to their ranks.

Leopards chairperson Dan Shikanda says the campaign will kick off on Saturday at the Songoi Super Cup, where prospects will be recruited to their academy team for further nurturing.

“We are finishing our season on June 25, but now we have embarked on a talent search mission to empower our youth team with good players for the future.

“We will be carrying out the exercise regularly to identify the best talents so that they can join our youth ranks during holidays.

“We will launch the exercise this weekend in Mumias West at Bukaya Sports Ground during the Songoi Super Cup.”

Geoffrey Songoi, who patronizes the Songoi Super Cup, has exuded confidence in the new project, describing it as a catalyst to strengthen Ingwe.

“I thank everyone who has believed in our project. Ingwe’s initiative aligns with the tournament’s objective of providing prospects with an opportunity to be scouted.”

Leopards are currently placed seventh on the FKF Premier League log with 48 points but have two remaining matches against Sofapaka and Kariobangi Sharks before the end of the season.
