Lazizi Welfare Foundation, a registered nonprofit organization dedicated to education, healthcare, conservation, and community development, hosted a heartwarming Tree Lighting Ceremony at Crowne Plaza Nairobi. The event brought together students from Nifikie Christian School in Mukuru Kwa Njenga, an underserved settlement, offering them a rare festive experience and a message of hope for a brighter future.

The celebration marked more than just the holiday season, it symbolized Lazizi Welfare Foundation’s unwavering commitment to quality education for every child. In line with Kenya’s Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) reforms, the foundation announced plans to fund the construction of a Grade 9 classroom at Nifikie Christian School. This initiative, costing approximately KES 500,000, ensures continuity for students beyond Grade 8, addressing a critical gap for children in Mukuru who often face educational disruption due to limited school infrastructure.“

This Christmas, we are giving the gift of opportunity,” said Steve Raburu, Project Manager, Lazizi Welfare Foundation. “By supporting the Grade 9 classroom, we are not only helping 33 students transition smoothly but creating a generational impact, every child from Grade 1 onward will have a guaranteed path to higher learning.”
