Latest FIFA Rankings: Kenya’s Harambee Stars move down by one place

Kenya’s national football team, Harambee Stars, has dropped from position 101 to 102 in the latest rankings released by FIFA, the world football governing body.

This decline in ranking comes after Harambee Stars’ loss to Iran in an international friendly match played in Tehran last month, which was their first outing since November 2021.

This marks the first time since October 2022 that Kenya has fallen back to position 102 in the FIFA rankings.

In the regional rankings, Harambee Stars currently sit third in East Africa, with Democratic Republic of Congo at 73 and Uganda at 89 ahead of them. Tanzania is ranked fourth in the region at 130, followed by Rwanda at 137 in fifth place.

Burundi and South Sudan complete the rankings for the East African members at sixth and seventh positions, respectively.

In the African region, Morocco continues to hold the top spot at 11th position, followed by Senegal at 18th and Tunisia at 28th.

Algeria and Egypt complete the top five rankings in Africa at 34th and 35th positions, respectively.

On the global stage, Argentina has regained the top spot in the FIFA World Ranking after six years since last holding the position.

This reflects the dynamic nature of football rankings, which are influenced by recent performances and results of national teams in international competitions.
