Gnabry set to leave Arsenal on loan?

Arsenal will allow Serge Gnabry to return to Germany on loan.

The youngster is reportedly wanted by both Hertha Berlin and Mainz after impressing during the Olympic Games in Rio.

Gnabry ended the tournament having scored six goals for his country.

Arsenal are happy to allow Gnabry to leave on loan, but he remains highly-rated and could return to Arsene Wenger’s plans next season.

Wenger: We’re ‘close’ to another signing

Arsene Wenger has told fans Arsenal are “close” to making another signing.

The Gunners have been criticised for their lack of activity in the transfer market this season, and a short at both ends of the field.

Wenger may finally be ready to appease the fans, though.

“Yes we are close [to another signing],” Wenger told BT Sport. “But I would say spending in itself is not a quality. Spending and buying the right players is a quality.

“I am a bit fed up to always respond to the same things. We look and analyse absolutely everything and we have to make the right decisions.”

Arsenal eye Yacine Brahimi move

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is weighing up a move for Porto’s Yacine Brahimi after missing out on Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez.

Liverpool and Chelsea have considered moves of their own for the Algerian, who wants to leave Porto.

Now Wenger has been alerted to his availability after Mahrez penned a new four-year Foxes deal.

Brahimi was left out of Porto’s Champions League qualifier in midweek and the Portuguese club will sell the player for £40million.

Wenger looks set to miss out on Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez, 21, with the Spanish club insisting he is not for sale unless his £56million buyout clause is met.
