Kenya’s biggest off-season football tournament Kothbiro is set to resume on Wednesday, 25th January 2023.
This is after the tournament took a short break after the knockout stage due to money issues.
“We received some money over the weekend that will go a long way in supporting the tournament. We thank God we are back on track and hopefully this time we will be on till the finals,” said Paul Ojenge Kothbiro Tournament chairman.
“We thank the teams for the patience and resilience this tells just how much passion these youngsters have for the game. We hope that this kind of discipline and professionalism will help us attract more sponsors in the future,” stated Polosa.
Polosa is however appealing to well-wishers and corporate sponsors to come in and help to efficiently run the tournament.
“Kothbiro is a reputable tournament that attracts hundreds of thousands of football fans across Kenya. I has received sponsorship from some of Kenya’s biggest brands and has definitely delivered in terms of value. We are appealing to Kenyans of goodwill to support us in order to bring the tournament to a successful conclusion.”
The tournament enters the quarter finals on Tuesday after a grue
some season that started with the playoffs after more than 50 teams registered.
