Former Kakamega Senator, Boni Khalwale, is mourning.
His first wife, Adelaide Khalwale is dead.
K24 Digital reports that Adelaide passed away on Saturday morning, October 5, after a long battle with cancer.
The ex-senators wife was working at the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology in Kakamega County.
Boni Khalwale in previous media interviews revealed that he has two wives, the now-late Adelaide and his second partner Josephine Khalwale.
In one interview with The Standard, he revealed that while in campus, he would get a stipend which helped him marry his first wife while he was in the second year.
“WE WERE GIVEN A SH1,500 STIPEND, WHICH QUITE A LOT THEN. LIFE AS SUCH WAS RELATIVELY EASIER, AND I COULD EVEN AFFORD TO MARRY WHILE IN SECOND YEAR.”
Adding, “However, my marriage nearly collapsed, since girls would hang around me because I was a politician and the medical school students’ representative. Well, taking a tough course was probably also an attraction.”
From Newsday, we send our sincere condolences to the family. Poleni sana for your loss.
May she rest in peace.
