Kenya’s bizarre request for friendly matches against burundi shocks football fans

Harambee Stars’ plans for friendly matches against Burundi on March 25th and 28th have been canceled due to a last-minute request by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to move the matches to Indonesia.

According to Jeremie Manirakiza, Burundi FA General Secretary who spoke to Mozzart sports, they had agreed to play the games in Nairobi, but the FKF’s request to change the venue made them withdraw.

“FKF asked us to change and play in Indonesia,” he told Mozzart sports

This sudden change of plans has left fans disappointed and confused, with many questioning why the FKF made such a request. The cancellation of the matches also means that Harambee Stars will miss out on crucial preparation time ahead of their upcoming  qualifiers after coming out from a FIFA suspension.

The FKF is yet to comment on the matter, and it remains unclear why they requested the matches to be moved to Indonesia. The decision has not gone down well with fans, who are calling for transparency and accountability from the federation.
