Kenyans will continue to access NTSA Smart DL services from October 24 across Huduma Centres in selected counties.

NTSA has stated that those in Nairobi can get the services from the Government Post Office (GPO) while Machakos, Nakuru, and Kisii residents will get the services from Machakos Centre, Nakuru Centre, Kisii Centre, and Kerugoya Centre respectively.

The services will be offered from 8.00 am to 3.00 pm in the different Huduma Centres in the counties.

In terms of how to apply, NTSA has broken down the process into four steps.

For step one, you are required to open your TIMS account online.

After that, you are required to log into your account and go to the Driving License section.

For the third step, click on Apply Smart DL and confirm the driving license details provided.

Request correction of information if necessary as all data will be corrected during the bio-metric capturing process.

The final step requires you to make payments and submit your application.

In March, about 1,000 drivers applied for new-generation smart driving licenses from the National Transport and Safety Authority in Murang’a.

The authority pitched camp at the county headquarters to help drivers who had not yet applied for the new licenses.

NTSA deputy director and head of licensing Hared Adan said the authority had been organizing outreach programs for drivers where it does not have offices.
