Kibra MP Ken Okoth’s funeral to take place on condition that 4-year-old Jayden Okoth is allowed to attend.

Kibra Member of Parliament (MP) Ken Okoth’s funeral service will go ahead as planned after the family reached an agreement with MCA Anne Muthoni.

Ms Muthoni agreed to relax her demand to have the funeral stopped after the family agreed to allow her four year old son Jayden Okoth to attend the ceremony.

The disputing parties submitted a signed consent letter that also includes an agreement to have a DNA test conducted to establish paternity of the young boy.

The court on Friday allowed for DNA samples to be collected from the deceased MP following the claim that Jayden is his biological son.

Ken Okoth was a responsible dad – Anne Muthoni

In an interview with a local daily, Ms Muthoni stated that the legislator had been a responsible father to her son.

“Being keen on education, he always asked how Jayden was doing in school and whenever he could he would check on his progress with the teachers.

“He was a good man…So loving and always positive about life,” she stated.

She also clarified that she first met the legislator at the Aga Khan University Hospital where she was receiving training as a nurse.

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Thursday caused a ruckus at the MP’s memorial service when he confirmed media reports of the ‘secret’ son.
