Kakamega Homeboyz drops five players in surprise move – Who will fill their shoes? KCB FC and Tusker FC Compete for Top Striker

    Several Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clubs are making moves in the transfer market ahead of the second leg of the season.

    Kakamega Homeboyz and Kenya Police FC are reportedly interested in signing Farouk Shikalo, while Kibera Soccer midfielder Lucas Maina and Kariobangi Sharks’ Issa Lumumba are likely to join Ulinzi Stars.

    Bandari FC has completed the signings of Amos Asembeka, Johanna Mwita, and Joe Waithira, while KCB attacker Michael Oduor is currently training with Tusker FC.

    Sofapaka FC has completed the signing of Evans Maliachi from APS Bomet and is also interested in Joachim Oluoch, Ebrimah Sanneh, and Tera Misiko.

    However, they have also seen the departure of Samuel Olwande, Nixon Omondi, Geoffrey Ojunga, and Ambrose Sifuna.

    In other transfer news, Kenya Police FC is closing in on former Tusker FC midfielder Apollo Otieno, who has been training with KCB FC. Tusker FC remains interested in Nzoia Sugar FC duo Joseph Mwangi and Kevin Juma, while Ulinzi Stars defender Omar Mbongi will not be part of the team in the second leg, having been redeployed.

    Kakamega Homeboyz has also dropped five players from their squad. The released players include Simon Abuko, Eugene Wethuli, Meshack Muyonga, Chris Masinza, and Eli Asieche. Meanwhile, KCB FC and Kakamega Homeboyz are both interested in FC Talanta striker Brian Yakhama, who has scored eight goals so far this season.

    The second leg of the KPL season is expected to be fiercely contested, with all the clubs looking to improve their positions on the table. The transfer market is expected to be very active in the coming weeks, with many clubs looking to bolster their squads for the remainder of the season.
