1). Accounts and Admin officer.

Location: Ruiru

Salary: 30,000.

An MFI that manages women groups through resource mobilization is looking to hire an Accounts and Admin officer who will be responsible for accounting and coordinating office activities in their Organization.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Handle the front office and manage correspondence, in person, calls and mails.
  • Reconcile the bank statements on a constant basis.
  • Prepare income and expenditure projections and variance analyses.
  • Prepare monthly payrolls and ensure remittance of statutory deductions.
  • Manage client records as well as their accounts.
  • Coordination with courier companies and delivery of all packages.
  • Follow up on payments.
  • Supervising and managing of stock.
  • Keeping a steady and up to date filing system.
  • Managing the Managing Director’s diary.

Qualification & Skills for Accounts & Admin Officer Job

  • A minimum of CPA K
  • A Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in related field will be an added advantage.
  • At least 2 years experience working for an MFI.
  • Experience in loan processing, disbarment and recovery will be an added advantage.
  • Experience working with Quick books.
  • Proficiency in Ms Office and relevant accounting software’s.
  • Previous experience as an Office administrator is preferred.
  • Ladies are encouraged to apply.

2). Accountant Job At Telepost Sacco

Accountant Job Purpose
The assistant accountant job is an accountancy role in the Sacco and is responsible for assisting the BOSA Accountant realize the finance accounting objectives of the Sacco. The jobholder will be involved in various accounting duties and roles as outlined below.

Accountant Job Responsibilities

  • Processing of payments, EFTs and postings
  • Loan offsets
  • Loans Posting
  • Initiating general journals on accounts reconciliation and deposits transfers

Accounts Clerk Job Responsibilities

  • Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
  • Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
  • Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.

4). Senior Accountant Job at Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority

The Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA) is a State Corporation established under the National Treasury pursuant to the Unclaimed Financial Assets Act No. 40 of 2011.

The primary mandate of the Authority is to obtain unclaimed financial assets from the holders of such assets on behalf of the Government, safeguard and re-unite the assets with their rightful owners.

UFAA invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions:

Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant Job Purpose

  • Reporting to Manager Finance and Accounting, the Senior Accountant/ Finance Officer will be responsible for the efficient management of financial and accounting services in the Authority.

Senior Accountant Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Executing financial and accounting management and control systems in line with the Public Finance Management Act, 2012
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating the Authority’s financial policies, systems and recommending necessary improvements;
  • Coordinate budget formulation, preparation, execution, accounting and reporting
  • Ensure that all laid down periodical financial reports/returns are prepared and disseminated as per laid down laws and regulations;
  • Ensure accounts analysis and reconciliations (including vendor and bank reconciliations) are performed as per laid down policy;
  • Coordinate management of the Authority’s cash and bank operations;
  • Liaise with other Departments so as to ensure that financial regulations and procedures are complied with and where applicable give guidance including dealing with any staff enquiries on any payment related matters.
  • Coordinate internal and external payments requests and ensure that they are in line with laid down policies and any related enquiries are addressed;
  • Coordinate internal and external financial controls and audits
  • Coordinate the handling and safe keeping of financial and accounting records
  • Management of receivables (receipting, banking, invoicing and reconciliations) and reporting on the same as per laid down regulations;
  • Coordinate tax management and adherence to laid down taxation laws and guidelines
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by the Manager Finance and Accounting

Qualifications for Senior Accountant Job

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business (Finance/ Accounting) from a university recognized by the Commission of University Education.
  • A Masters’ degree will be an added advantage
  • CPA(K) or equivalent qualification
  • At least seven (7) years relevant work experience, at least three (3) of which should be at supervisory level

  • Ability to interpret long term plans, programs and budgets
  • Interpersonal and leadership skills;
  • Ability to develop plans, programs, Standard Operating Procedures and coordination of workflows;

  • Successful candidates for the above positions will be offered a competitive remuneration package;
  • Appointments in positions No. 2 to 14 will be on permanent and pensionable terms subject to satisfactory performance; while position No. 1 will be on 4 year contract terms, renewable subject to satisfactory performance;
