Award-winning journalist Jeff Koinange on Saturday fulfilled a promise he made to former Kibra MP Ken Okoth five weeks after his death.

Jeff revealed that two years after Ken Okoth challenged him to build a library for students at Mbagathi High School, he had honored the agreement.

“Folks…Almost TWO years ago, former Kibra MP, the late Ken Okoth challenged me on the bench to build a library for the kids at Mbagathi High School!!…He called it the “Jeff Koinange Library”Jeff wrote.

The Citizen TV journalist stated that stacking the library shelves with books began on Saturday and also appealed for well-wishers to donate books to stack the shelves.

“Today, we have started STACKING the shelves with books and on TOP of that…rename the library the “Ken Okoth Memorial library”…Btw you can donate books anytime….Spread the word!!” added the post.

The promise was made when Jeff hosted the deceased on is show when the two agreed that the library would be named Jeff Koinange Library.

In honour of Okoth who lost the battle with cancer in July, Jeff later decided to name the project “Ken Okoth Memorial Library.

During his tenure as the Kibra MP, Okoth se a good record in prudent management of Constituency Development Fund with several projects constructed during his term.

He also directed the funds to supporting students from needy backgrounds attain education.
