Gospel artiste Daddy Owen is a heartbroken man after his wife of 5 years left him and is now engaged to a rich hotelier from Gilgil. Here is an inside look at his marriage.
A family friend who requested anonymity said,
“AS WE SPEAK, DADDY OWEN FEARS FOR HIS LIFE, HE IS IN HIDING. HE CHANGES CARS AND DOESN’T SLEEP AT THE SAME PLACE OFTEN.”
We asked why, the close family friend said,
“FOR THREE YEARS NOW, DADDY OWEN HAS BEEN DEPRESSED AND IT ALL CAME TO A HILT WHEN HE WAS CALLED BY A FAMILY MEMBER WHO WORKS IN A POSH HOTEL IN NAIVASHA. THE RELATIVE TOLD HIM, HE HAS JUST SEEN HIS WIFE GET ENGAGED TO A RICH TYCOON AND HE WAS WONDERING WHAT’S UP?”
He continued,
“HE KNEW HIS WIFE WAS AWAY ON A BUSINESS TRIP AND HAD NO IDEA WHAT THAT RELATIVE WAS TALKING ABOUT. HE TRAVELLED TO NAIVASHA WHERE HE TRACKED DOWN THE COUPLE AND FOUND OUT THAT THE MAN WHO ENGAGED HIS WIFE IS A HOTELIER IN GILGIL.”
When called for comment, Daddy Owen blue ticked us and did not pick up our phone calls either.
The same with Farida whose number is on for a while before it went busy at the time of going to press. Numerous texts to her also went unanswered.
However, in a past interview with Daddy Owen revealed that his marriage is not as perfect as people want to imagine, adding that he and his wife argue at times.
Owen and Farida Wambui tied the knot in a colorful wedding on April 2, 2016, and they have been a couple of goals ever since.
Speaking during an exclusive interview Owen said one of the major reasons they used to argue is because of text messages.
Asked what is the silliest thing that has ever made him and Farida argue Owen says,
SOMEONE CAN SEND YOU A TEXT AND MAYBE YOU DON’T KNOW THEM OR SOMEONE HAS ACCIDENTALLY CALLED YOU AND THAT MAY END UP BEING A REASON TO ARGUE.
HOWEVER, WITH TIME YOU DISCOVER MARRIAGE IS NOT ABOUT POLICING SOMEONE.
Owen went on to reveal that one thing that has made his marriage work is the fact that he chose to work on himself first.
According to him, it is important to understand that your spouse came from a different background/family hence it is important to embrace them the way they are.
