 Lt. Gen. Peter Mbogo Njiru was promoted and appointed as army commander on 27th July 2022. 

On Wednesday 27th July,  Lieutenant General Peter Mbogo Njiru was sworn in as Kenya’s newest army commander in an event that was overseen by His excellency Uhuru Kenyatta. Mbogo now replaces Lt.Gen Walter Koipaton who has retired after a four-year term of service.

Mbogo’s career as a military man began when he was enlisted into the Kenya Defence Forces as an Officer Cadet on 24th June 1985….
