Sports cabinet secretary Hassan Wario’s ex-wife has gone to court seeking Sh. 400,000 per month to cater for her basic needs.
Ms. Dima Huyo told a Nairobi high court that she needed the money from the cabinet secretary to buy food, pay rent, medical expenses, transport and entertainment.
However, Justice Isaac Lenaola, who was presiding over the case ruled that it was not constitutional and instead transferred it to the court’s family division.
The ex-partners had no child by the time they divorced on May 3 2012. Their divorce was granted by a Superior court in England.
Mr. Wario and Ms. Huyo had been married since September 6, 1997.
