FKF Premier League leaders Nzoia Sugar FC will host AFC Leopards at the Sudi Ground as the league enters its 14th round.

Leopards, whose winning streak continued in midweek with a 1-0 win over Vihiga Bullets, are only six points off the leaders, and a win at the Sudi Grounds will not boost their chances of narrowing the gap between them and the leading group but might see them be among the teams ready to challenge for the title this season.

On the other end, a win for Nzoia will see them consolidate their lead at the top and reach the 30-point mark. The sugar millers are on 27 points after 13 games.

Coach Salim Babu’s charges could also widen their lead at the top if Gor, Tusker and KCB, tied on 24 points but separated by goal difference, drop points against their opponents.

Speaking ahead of the match, Nzoia, under the tutelage of Salim Babu, said the clash against leopards would be a big surprise as they expect a lot of support from their home fans considering the fact the Bungoma governor paid the home team Nzoia to waive the entry fee.

“We are ready for Leopards and also expect a huge turnout in the game. Expect an entertaining match and since we are at home, this is the chance for us to do better and win this crucial tie. I believe victory will be ours,” said Nzoia Sugar coach Salim Babu.

In other matches of the week, defending Champions Tusker FC will be looking to forget their January form when they take on Kariobangi Sharks at the Ruaraka Grounds in one of the six matches slated for Saturday 4th February 2023.

On Sunday, Bidco will be taking on Kenya Police at Nyayo Stadium with struggling Bullets hosting Ulinzi Stars in Bukhungu.
