The secondary schools that over a million applicants who took the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) will be able to enroll in starting in January 2024, is now known.
While presiding over the 2024 Form One placement at Lenana School on Monday, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu stated that the placements were made based on candidate preferences in addition to other factors.
Candidates will now move to secondary schools within their counties as well outside their counties as well.
The CS added that the government is dedicated to seeing a complete shift to secondary education and guaranteed that day and boarding school tuition would not alter.
“The government maintains its pledge to offer free day secondary education, covering both operating and tuition costs. In 2024, the fees for secondary education won’t change. According on correct enrollment figures, schools will still be given funding, Cabinet Secretary incharge of Education Ezekiel Machogu clarified.
All Candidates will access placement results through the Ministry of Education website.
On the Ministry’s website, they will then search Form One placements. This will direct them to the Form One selection page, where they can access the placement results.
The results can also be accessed directly through the Kenya Education Management Information System (KEMIS), by clicking this link.
In addition, candidates will download forms containing Form One joining instructions from www.kemis.edu.co.ke.
“I assure Kenyans that this website has been tested and proven and is 100% accurate. It is in operation,” Machogu ascertained.
