Grab your popcorn. Afrobeat superstars Davido and Wizkid have a problem with each other, and this time it’s serious. The two aren’t known to be friends, but ordinarily, they tend to ignore each other. However, they have now been forced to throw digital punches at each other, and the genesis of it all can be traced back to something Wizkid posted.
The latest beef began when Wizkid started ranting on social media, only for a fan to tell him to shut up and release a song. Irked by the post, Wizkid posted the now-viral video of Davido begging a woman not to leave him, then captioned it, “Beg me like this.”
Wueh!
Anyway, Wizkid didn’t stop there. Another fan tweeted him, asking him to say something about an artiste named Ladipo, who apparently had been talking bad about him.
“Wizkid Ladipo still talk nonsense yesterday o. Abeg enter that one too,” the fan said.
FYI, Ladipoe is a Nigerian rapper signed by the legendary Don Jazzy.
Once again, Wizkid responded more sarcastically, by instead taking shots at Don Jazzy,
He wrote, “Lol, never chatting to anyone signed to an influencer. Next.”
The man was clearly in the mood for the beef, and Davido wasn’t gonna let it slide. The “Unavailable” hitmaker, who released gave a marvelous performance in Kenya, heard about Wizkid’s shade-throwing sessions and responded with “We’re not delusional. You’re sick man.”
WIzkid continued trolling, so Davido tweeted a longer reaction.
“That’s what I thought. Nothing to say! Exactly why I stopped wasting my clout and jeopardizing my millions of USD of endorsements on someone whose career was resurrected a few years ago just to die again. Next!”
Unbothered, Wizkid took more shots at Davido, telling him that even if he hung up his boots, he would never be “on his level”.
“I got nun to say to u my boy! I can retire today and you still not on my level. Wish u well!”
After that, the exchange degenerated into insults. Davido, despite being short himself, began making fun of Wizkid’s physique, claiming that he must be wearing shoe size number seven. As you might remember, Drake said the same thing to Kendrick Lamar, so Davido wasn’t exactly being original here.
David continued with the insults, claiming that the “Caro”’ hitmaker buys his footwear from the popular kids’ apparel store, Footlocker Kids.
WIzkid has since gone quiet. Let’s hope they release diss tracks at each other because we want nothing but problems.
