Engin Firat, the coach of Harambee Stars, has issued a stern warning to his players and associates, whom he refers to as “moles,” for allegedly leaking confidential reports to the media.

During a press conference on Sunday, Firat expressed his displeasure, saying that he had discussed the issue with the team and made it clear that he would find out who was responsible and take action against them.

“I have closed this matter with the team because I made it very clear with the players that if things inside go out, I will find out who it is and it will be finished for him,” the tactician said.

Firat was particularly irked that the squad list for the national team was leaked to the media three hours before their World Cup qualifier against Mali in October 2021, which they went on to lose 5-0.

He stated that such leaks would give their opponents an advantage by allowing them to study the squad and prepare accordingly, jeopardizing Kenya’s chances of success.

He questioned whether such leaks were an act of journalism or an act of treason against their own country.

Harambee Stars is set to travel to Iran for an international friendly match scheduled for Tuesday.
