Gifted Harambee Stars midfielder leaves moneybags Kenya Police

Kenya Police FC team manager George Maelo has officially announced the departure of midfielder Duke Abuya, who is set to join Singida Fountain Gate FC.

The 29-year-old Kenyan International midfielder’s move to the Tanzanian club has put an end to months of speculations regarding his future in football.

In an interview with the club media, Maelo confirmed the latest development and acknowledged Abuya’s significant contributions to the team during his tenure.

“We will miss our player Duke Abuya,” Maelo expressed to the club media.

The confirmation came during Kenya Police FC’s pre-season trip to Tanzania, where they faced Singida Fountain Gate FC in a thrilling friendly match which ended in a 1-1 draw.

“It was a great friendly match against Singida. They have a strong team, and their presence in the CAF Confederation Cup reflects their capabilities. I am positive that in our next match against Namungo FC, our players will be even better prepared to face the challenges ahead,” he noted.

Singida, an esteemed club that finished third in their league, is all set to compete in the 2022/2023 CAF Confederation Cup.

The Tanzanaian outfit has been actively strengthening its squad with impressive signings, and has shown interest in Law Enforcers trio of Elvis Rupia, Alvin Mange’ni, David Simiyu, and Tyson Otieno but the management is determined to retain them in their quest for the league title.

Duke Abuya’s outstanding abilities as a midfielder have been instrumental for Kenya Police.

Throughout the 2022/23 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season, Abuya showcased his playmaking skills, providing an impressive tally of 20 assists, making him one of the standout players in the league.

Abuya’s football journey has seen him play for prominent Kenyan clubs such as GFE 105 FC, Mathare United, and Kariobangi Sharks FC.

After parting ways with Zambia Super League side Nakana FC following the expiration of his contract, he joined Kenya Police FC, where he continued to leave a mark with his performances.

His decision to move to Singida opens up a new chapter in his career, and fans will eagerly anticipate witnessing him shine on the international stage.
