After sealing a move to Bradford City on the Bosman rule, Harambee Stars versatile midfielder Clarke Oduor was the recipient of glowing praise from his manager Mark Hughes.
The former Manchester United midfielder who boasts of a glittering CV that saw him turn out for giants such as Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Chelsea took over Bradford back in February.

Oduor has featured in all of Bradford’s pre-season games and clocked 90 minutes in the thrilling 3-3 draw against Championship outfit Middlesbrough.
The 24-year-old endured a nightmare campaign last season as he was shipped out on loan to Hartlepool United in the first half of the season before his season long deal was cut short in the January transfer window.
Upon his return to Barnsley, Oduor failed to make a single appearance for the Oaks and only made 11 appearances for Hartlepool, scoring once and assisting twice.
Hughes was delighted with the performance of Andy Cook and Oduor in the 3-3 draw against Middlesbrough with the former scoring a brace and the latter providing an assist.
“I think Platty was trying to nick one of them off him, but we’ve had a look and it’s definitely Andy’s goal.
“He obviously got lucky with the one that went to him in the middle of the box but it was a great header from a great cross by Clarke (Oduor) and another from the free-kick. It was an opportunity to have a look at him there as well,” he continued.
The former Leeds United midfielder has already earned a cap for Harambee Stars that came in the 2-1 win over Zambia back in 2019 and chipped in with a goal line clearance in the game.

Hughes also gave plaudits to Oduor’s versatility as he can feature as a left or right back, winger and central midfielder with the former Manchester City manager also praising his quality.
“He’s come here because of his ability but also because of his flexibility. He can play in a number of positions.
“You can see Clarke’s got good quality on the ball, he’s comfortable in possession and can see a pass.
“I was pleased with what he produced. I need players who have that flexibility and are able to adapt if they are asked to do a different role,” said Hughes.
