Former Posta Rangers forward Josephat Lopaga has joined Belarusian side Dynamo-Brest after cutting ties with Omani side Dhofar Club.

Lopaga joins the club on a year and a half contract that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2024 season.

Football club “Dynamo-Brest” is pleased to announce the official start of cooperation with forward Josephat Lopaga,” wrote the club on its website.

The forward caught many unawares when he joined Dhofar in February after leaving AFC Leopards.

He joined the Omani club alongside former national U17 team captain Alphonce Omija.

Lopaga rarely featured for Dhofar unlike Omija who hit the ground running at the club as soon as he put pen to paper.

According to Dynamo-Brest, Lopaga who played for the national U17,20 and 23 national teams impressed in the trials but sealing the deal took close to a month due to a number of issues.

He quickly convinced the coaching staff of his strength, but it took almost a month for the transfer. The reason is legal problems related to delays on the part of his previous club “Dhofar” from the championship of Oman,” stated the club.

Lopaga who has been training with the club’s youth team will be hoping to graduate to the senior one and jostle for playing time in the league matches.

Dynamo-Brest stages home matches at the Stadyen DASK Brestski which accommodates approximately 10,169 fans.

The senior team is currently placed third in the top flight behind Gomel and Smorgon.

The Gor Mahia Youth team product becomes the fifth summer acquisition by the club after George Mussinga, Nikita Sednev, Yegor Kortsov and Alexander Bulychev.
