The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) is set to conduct the FKF Women Cup Round of 32 draw on Thursday, March 2, 2023.
The tournament is scheduled to start on March 18, 2023, and this is the second edition of the FKF Women Cup.
The draw will take place at the Kenya Institute of Special Education in Nairobi at 10 am, with former players and FKF Women Cup clubs expected to attend.
Before the draw, there will be a panel discussion on women’s football featuring former Starlets captain Doreen Nabwire, coach Beldine Odemba, and Thika Queens captain Wendy Achieng.
The discussion will focus on the state of women’s football in Kenya and the progress made so far in promoting the game.
The FKF Women Cup aims to promote women’s football in Kenya by providing a platform for women’s teams to showcase their talent and compete against each other.
The tournament also provides an opportunity for young players to gain experience and exposure to higher levels of competition.
The first edition of the FKF Women Cup was held in 2021 and saw 32 teams from across the country compete for the trophy. Ulinzi Starlets FC emerged as the winners.
