    Fatuma Achani UDA has made history by becoming the first female governor in the Coast region.

    Until her election in the tight contest, she was serving as the deputy governor of outgoing county boss Salim Mvurya who has been in office since 2013.

    She was declared Kwale Governor-elect with 59,674 votes against her rival ODM candidate professor Hamadi Boga who managed 53, 972 votes.
