Father’s Grief: DJ Brownskin’s disturbing words to me when my daughter died

Albert Mwangi, father to the late Sharon Njeri and father-in-law to Michael Macharia, also known as DJ Brownskin, is a man in pain.

Months after burying his daughter, the pain of her demise has resurfaced following a viral video on social media.

Speaking to Standard Entertainment, Mwangi described Sharon as a jovial girl who always checked up on him.

They had deep father-daughter moments, shared meals and drinks, and spoke on the phone frequently, even when he was away working as a driver for a tour company.

Mwangi recounted how he once sent Sharon a photo of a kikoi he came across while on an assignment, and despite it not being her favorite color, he bought it for her. However, it never reached her.

On the day Sharon died, Mwangi was at work when DJ Brownskin called him with the news. Brownskin told him that he had taken the children to school and found Sharon had taken some drugs.

But the viral video he later saw showed a different story, with Brownskin apparently recording as Sharon fought for her life.

“He lied to me, and since the video surfaced, we have not talked. He knows he lied to me,” Mwangi said, fighting back tears.

Mwangi had trusted DJ Brownskin so much that he did not question his account and had already made peace with the fact that his daughter had taken poison. He believed that following up would not bring back her life.

When asked about any marital issues between Sharon and DJ Brownskin, Mwangi said he was not aware of any, although Sharon had mentioned at some point that Brownskin had moved out of their house.

Despite being away for over a month, Brownskin continued to provide for the family.

“They were quite happy, and whenever they visited me, we had a good time. I am still surprised that Masha would watch a woman he claimed to love die in front of him,” Mwangi said.

Mwangi expressed his disbelief that Brownskin could watch the mother of his children die, especially when the kids were present.

He questioned how Brownskin could justify his actions and live with the guilt if he truly loved Sharon, and left it to God to judge.

Currently, Mwangi is taking care of the children as the family comes to terms with the recent developments.

However, he is adamant that he will not let them live with DJ Brownskin because he no longer trusts him.

“I do not think I can trust him with my grandkids… I will take care of them for now. We can meet and talk, and he can still provide for them if he wishes to, but I will not let him have the children,” Mwangi said.

He added, “He will have a tough time explaining to the kids what he did… how will he justify his actions? How will he live with the guilt? I leave this to God. At the end of the day, he sired children with my daughter.”
