Fallen broadcaster Sean Cardovillis to be cremated

Capital FM Sports presenter Sean Cardovillis body will be creamated on September 14, 2023, at a private family ceremony in Nairobi.

According to his family, a memorial service will be held on September 22, 2023, at the Consolata Shrine Catholic Church in Westlands, Nairobi, from 10am.

The service will serve as a moment for family, friends, colleagues, and fans to remember and celebrate the life of the renowned sports broadcaster.

The sports commentator passed away on September 9, 2023, at his home in Westlands, Nairobi.

Until his death, Cardovillis was working at Capital FM as a sports news presenter and premiered the Saturday Music and Sports Show.

According to police, Cardovillis body was found outside his residence along Rhapta Road in Westlands, a Nairobi suburb.

Police and the family said the discovery was made by a cleaner who stumbled upon his body on the staircase leading to his apartment on the fourth floor.

The family has yet to disclose his cause of death.

He is remembered for his passion for motorsport and his passion to shine the light on the talents in the sport.

He was also very much at home reporting rugby, golf, football and just about any sports.

He started his broadcasting job at Capital FM in January 1997, working for nine years at the media house, and rising to the position of Sports Editor.

Cardovillis worked in Kenya, alternating between Nation Media Group and Capital FM, as well as in the Seychelles.

He pioneered radio sports shows, hosting legends and winners in their field, and analysing results, trends, and new talent.

President William Ruto has led Kenyans in mourning the ardent broadcaster, who was also a fan of English Premier League side Arsenal.
