Nairobi businesswoman Esther Passaris on Tuesday admitted to being in a polygamous arrangement. Ms. Passaris, 52, has to children with billionaire Pius Ngugi.
The billionaire is also said to be entangled with another lady known as Lynette Buddery who claims to have given birth to his daughter in 2001.
“I am in a polygamous set up and it’s not something that I am proud of, neither is it something that am ashamed of; you kinda learn to balance the two, this is the situation that am in and I’ve got to accept it,” Ms. Passaris said on KTN’s Morning Express Show.
In 2003, Ms. Passaris had sued the billionaire for breaching a promise to marry her. She demanded Sh. 200,000 and a good car to ferry their children to and from school. The two had lived together in Springs Valley in the 1990s.
On the other end, Ms. Buddery claimed in 2014 that Ngugi married her in 1990 under customary law and she gave birth to the baby girl in 2001.
Mr. Ngugi, though, also took Ms. Passaris to court for continuously harassing him by asking for more money and mismanaging their children’s trust funds.
During the show, Ms. Passaris further revealed that she has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Dyslexia, which have made it hard for her to put her thoughts together on paper.
Ms. Passaris, though, said that she is neither proud nor ashamed of her polygamous setting.
Ngugi is the wealthy owner of Thika Coffee Mills and Kenya Nut Company which by 2014 controlled 10 per cent of the world nut market.
