Equity CEO James Mwangi sexually harassed me, claims Esther Passaris

Esther Passaris of the Adopt-a-Light fame took to her twitter account to claim that she has suffered sexual harassment in the hands of Equity Bank CEO James Mwangi.

In the tweet where she made the claims, Ms. Passaris said that she and Mr. Mwangi were friends but they parted ways after she declined to extend sexual favours to him.

“We were friends. But he expected me to be his mistress. I said No. He decided to finish me,” she tweeted, adding that her rejecting Mwangi was the cause of a seven year old battle which she apparently went through as Equity Bank attempted to freeze her working capital.

Ms. Passaris also added that Equity Bank sent auctioneers to her while it owed her a staggering Sh. 70 million. “James Mwangi lured my company to open an account after he got former Minister Noah Wekesa to introduce us…. he had me affirm the banks support for women in business when he launch the bank in KICC”.

In another tweet which sent out on Monday, Passaris claimed that her troubles began when Equity Bank sponsored 400 poles along Thika road in her Adopt-a-Light project, a sponsorship which she declined because the bank wanted to be the sole advertiser.

Ms. Passaris further said that she did not report the incident to the police because they wouldn’t have taken any action against James Mwangi. “many say why didn’t you go to the police? The answer is plain simple. Nothing happens beyond the OB booking & statement,” she tweeted on Monday.
