Faith leaders, business leaders, and community representatives from across Kenya came together for an interfaith Iftar dinner hosted by Diamond Trust bank. This event offered a chance for reflection, conversation, and fellowship during the holy month of Ramadan. The theme was “Compassion as an Individual and Collective Responsibility.”
The gathering provided a space for important discussions about empathy, shared responsibility, and teamwork in building stronger communities and promoting peaceful coexistence in Kenya’s diverse society. Participants reflected on the values of compassion, generosity, and unity commonly associated with Ramadan. They highlighted how these values are vital in creating more robust and inclusive communities.
Speakers at the event pointed out how important it is to build connections between different faiths and sectors. They noted that compassion should be practiced not only by individuals but also embraced by institutions and communities as a whole.
The conversations also emphasized the role of faith-based organizations, the private sector, and community leaders in fostering inclusive societies that prioritize diversity and mutual respect. Participants urged for stronger partnerships among various sectors to support efforts that encourage unity, social cohesion, and sustainable community development.
