The Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K) has announced a renewed effort to strengthen its internal unity and improve its electoral chances before the upcoming by-elections. During a meeting today at the party’s Chui House headquarters, the National Executive Council (NEC) adopted several measures to build unity and show stability in the face of new political challenges.

A key focus of the NEC’s discussions was establishing a nine-member Internal Dispute Resolution Committee (IDRC). This group will act as the party’s in-house mechanism for handling disputes quickly and fairly. Analysts believe this move will likely improve discipline and trust among members while reducing public disagreements that could harm the party’s reputation.

In addition to internal changes, the NEC also directed its attention to preparing for elections. Party leaders pledged to find strong, credible candidates for the by-elections and to mobilize grassroots support to achieve what they called “resounding victories.”

By reaffirming its commitment to the rule of law and its constitution, DAP-K aims to position itself as a disciplined and principled alternative in the competitive political environment. The focus on stability and democratic values comes at a time when voter trust increasingly depends on perceptions of honesty and order within political groups.

With these resolutions, DAP-K seems committed to balancing the needs of internal governance with the urgency of electoral success, presenting itself as a party ready to lead in both structure and service to the nation.
