The Ministry of Health has announced that 931 more people have tested positive for Covid-19, from a sample size of 6,691 tested in the last 24 hours.
According to a statement by Health CS Mutahi Kagwe on Sunday, October 25, this brings the country’s total caseload to 49,721. Kenya’s cumulative tests are now 659,920.
From the 931 cases, 896 are Kenyans and 35 are foreigners. 615 are males and 316 females. The youngest is a five-month-old infant while the oldest is 90 years old.
333 people have recovered from the disease; 256 from the Home-Based Care Program, while 77 have been discharged from various hospitals. Total recoveries now stand at 34,209.
Unfortunately, 6 patients succumbed to the disease bringing the total number of fatalities to 902.
There are 18 patients currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 49 on supplementary oxygen, while 16 are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
A total of 1,198 are admitted in various health facilities while 3,437 are on Home Based Isolation and Care.

Murang’a 9, Nyamira 7, Nandi 6, Kirinyaga 4, Vihiga 3, Isiolo 3, Meru 2, Homa Bay 2, Embu 2, Kilifi 1, Kwale 1, Narok 1, Migori 1 and Tharaka Nithi 1.
In Nairobi, the 333 cases are spread in the sub-counties as follows: Lang’ata (74), Westlands (36), Dagoretti North (30), Kasarani (22), Embakasi East and Starehe (18) cases each, Roysambu (16), Kibra and Makadara (15) cases each, Embakasi South (14) Embakasi Central and Ruaraka (12) cases each, Dagoretti South and Embakasi West (11) cases each, Embakasi North and Kamukunji (10) cases each and Mathare (9).
In Mombasa, the 95 cases are from Mvita (38), Nyali (24), Jomvu (18), Kisauni (11) and Likoni (4). In Nakuru, the 85 cases are from Naivasha (21), Nakuru East (20), Nakuru West (16), Nakuru North (11), Rongai (6), Njoro and Subukia (4) cases each, Gilgil (2), and Molo (1). In Trans Nzoia, all the 61 cases are from Saboti.
In Kericho, the 60 cases are from Ainamoi (49), Belgut (7) and Buret (4). In Turkana, the 54 cases are from Turkana Central (39) and Turkana West (15). In Kisumu, the 39 cases are from Kisumu Central (31), Nyakach (5), Kisumu East (2) and Muhoroni (1).
In Uasin Gishu, the 24 cases are from Ainabkoi (8), Moiben (7) Kapseret (4), Turbo (3), Kesses and Soy (1) case each.
In Kakamega, the 24 cases are from Lurambi (21), Butere, Malava and Mumias West (1) case each. In Kiambu, the 23 cases are from Kabete (7), Kiambaa (6), Ruiru (4), Kiambu Town (3), Kikuyu (2) and Thika (1).
In Busia, the 19 cases are from Matayos (10) and Teso North (9). In Kitui, the 18 cases are from Kitui Central
(17) and Kitui South (1).
In Kajiado, the 16 cases are from Kajiado North (10) and Kajiado East (3). In Machakos, the 14 cases are from Athi River (7), Machakos Town (6) and Kangundo (1).
In Kisii, all the 12 cases are from Kitutu Chache South. In Garissa, the 11 cases are from Dadaab (9) and Garissa Town (2) while in Murang’a, the 9 cases are from Kiharu and Maragua (4) cases each, Gatanga (1).
In Nyamira, the 7 cases are from Nyamira Town (4), Borabu (2), and Manga (1). In Nandi, the 6 cases are from Nandi Hills (4) and Chesumei (2).
In Kirinyaga, all 4 cases are from Kirinyaga Central. In Vihiga, all the 3 cases are from Hamisi, while all the 3
cases in Isiolo, are from Isiolo Town.
The 2 cases in Meru, are from Imenti North and Imenti South with (1) case each, all the 2 cases in Homa Bay, are from Homa bay Town, and all the 2 cases.
The number of cases in the country have spiked in recent weeks after the government relaxed some of the Covid-19 containment measures.
