Covid-19 Update: New Cases 152, 57 Discharged, 4 People Succumbed- Total No of Cases 3,457

152 individuals have tested positive in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of those infected with Covid-19 to 3,457.

During the daily briefings from Afya House, Health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman stated that 3,503 samples had been tested over the 24-hour period.

All the 152 cases are Kenyans with 116 being male while 36 are female.

The CAS announced that four more individuals had succumbed to the disease, bringing the total number of fatalities to 100.

At the same time, 57 individuals had been discharged, bringing the number of recoveries to 1,221.

Nairobi had the highest number of cases at 70 followed by Mombasa (41), Busia (16), Kiambu (9), Kajiado (4),  Machakos and Migori 3 cases each, Kisumu (2), Taita Taveta, Narok, Nakuru and Uasin Gishu 1 case each.

The 70 cases in Nairobi are from; Embakasi (21) Starehe nine (9), Makadara and Kamukunji have 6 cases each, Kibra (5), Mathare (4), Dagoretti North (3), Embakasi West (3), Embakasi East, Roysambu, Lang’ata, Kasarani and Westlands have 2 cases each while Dagoreti South, Embakasi Central and Embakasi North have 1 case each.

In Mombasa, the 41 cases are from; Nyali (14), Mvita (10), Likoni (7), Kisauni (6) and Changamwe (4).

In Kiambu County, the cases are as follows: Ruiru (6), Thika (2), and Kikuyu (1) while in Kajiado, Kajiado Central, and Loitoktok recorded a case each.

Two cases from Machakos are from Athi River while one is from Mwala while in Migori, two of the cases are from Suna West and one in Suna East.

All the 16 cases in Busia are of truck drivers from Malaba’s point of entry.
