Covid-19 Update: Coronavirus Cases On The Rise As Kenya Hits 110 Infections

Health Cabinet Secretary (CS) Mutahi Kagwe on Thursday, April 2, announced that 29 new people had tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 110.

Speaking outside Afya House during the daily updates presser, CS Kagwe also revealed that 2 patients had succumbed to Coronavirus.

“I am saddened to announce that we have lost 2 patients who had tested positive for the Coronavirus,” he stated

The Health CS went on to announce that they had hit a new record of 662 tests in the past 24 hours, resulting in the latest confirmed cases.

“The situation in Kenya is not getting any better. It is not a joke, you don’t have to wait to hear of the death of someone you know to believe the virus is real. This is a very serious threat to our lives & to our nation, the numbers will rise,

This number is going to rise and rise exponentially,” he warned.

Following the latest results, the CS announced that the national government was going to enforce stiffer measures as it fought to try and contain the pandemic

“We are discouraging mass movement of people. You are highly discouraged not to move from your current location to the village, especially the people residing in Nairobi County,” he decreed.
