Covid-19 Update: 90 New Cases, 72 Dixharged, 4 Succumbed- Total No. 3,305 of Cases

Health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman on Friday, June 12, announced that 72 patients had been discharged in the last 24 hours, bringing the number of those who have recovered to 1164.

“It is a clear indication that COVID-19 disease is not a death sentence,” the CAS begun.

Speaking from KICC where the Ministry was launching a blood donation campaign, Dr. Aman added that 90 individuals tested positive after 2,419 cases were collected in the last 24 hours.

So far,  Kenya has tested 108, 666 samples with a total of those who have tested positive at 3,305.

All the 96 individuals are Kenyans while 62 are male and 28 are female.

At the same time, four individuals succumbed to the disease bringing the total number of those who had died to 96.

Across the counties, the cases are distributed as follows;  Nairobi (36), Mombasa (34), Busia (12), Uasin Gishu (3), Kilifi (1), Garissa (1), Kisumu (1), Meru (1) and Turkana (1).

In terms of distribution in Nairobi, the cases are as follows; Kibra (12), Makadara (5), Mathare (5), Kamukunji (4), Langata (3), Westlands (2), Embakasi Central (2) and one each in Dagoretti North, Embakasi West and Embakasi South.

The new cases in Mombasa are from; Mvita (14); Kisauni (8); Likoni, Jomvu and Changamwe (4 cases each).

All the 12 cases from Busia County are truck drivers at the Malaba border point while the case in Kilifi is from Kilifi North.

The case from Garissa was recorded in Garissa Township while Kisumu recorded a new patient from Kisumu Central.

Meru has one new case in Imenti Central and Turkana one case from Turkana West.
